This week was a doozy- Will and I spent a wonderful weekend in Dallas with his family, and then hit the ground running Monday morning with two crazy busy work weeks plus something every evening after work. In the end, dishes mostly got done, Will vacuumed the whole apartment, I left my purse in a conference room across campus and didn’t realize it until 3 hours later, and we had pancakes for dinner when my proposed spaghetti squash dish took decidedly too long for our grumbling stomachs. I don’t know how she does it, right?
Here’s a recap of our week:
one. Will and I stopped by his old high school with his Dad to watch a baseball game- he was only somewhat coerced to take this picture with his commemorative brick.
two. The best (belated) valentine from my nephew. Both my sisters, my brother-in-law, and my mom went down with strep on the SAME DANG DAY, so our Galentine’s Day was cancelled. Fortunately, my brother in law used his down time with the kids wisely, thus this gem I received on Sunday.
This falls solidly into the ‘Weird Things I Saw on the Internet’ category. I glimpsed this #ZombieModel on the side bar of someone’s blog this week… seriously, I know Zombies are in and everything, but why take a beautiful woman and make her look so starved and miserable that she might turn and eat my face at any second?
four. I went with my mom and sisters to see Sound of Music on Wednesday. It was amazing! Don’t mind this dark, heavily edited picture… it was snapped in front of my neighbor’s house and there was a brief argument as to whether or not we were going to go stand on their front porch at 11 pm at night to get better lighting. Also, Will is a good sport.
I have the darkest of dark undereye circles (a little boy I used to nanny for once asked me why I was wearing “gray makeup” under my eyes), and am constantly on the search for the holy grail of concealers. This one is not quite it, but it’s the best I’ve tried in my 15 years of rotating concealers!
Tomorrow, I’m off to my best friend’s bachelorette party in Burnet, TX. We will be spending the weekend wine tasting and girl talking and junk food eating, and I will probably spend a portion of it crying, because, friendship. Happy Friday!
