It is still unfathomable to me to think that on this day so many years ago, the Son of God, who helped to create the sun, moon, and stars, went willingly to a humiliating death on the cross, completely innocent, so that I could be saved. What man meant for evil, God meant for good. I can’t wait to celebrate all that Easter means on Sunday!
My favorite thing as of late has been asking my nephew what we celebrate at Easter. Sometimes his response is “Jesush ish our schavior from our schins.” and sometimes it’s “Candy.”
Speaking of candy… these sweet Easter gifts arrived in the mail today from my mother in law! How thoughtful is she? Will gave up sweets for Lent, so we will be going candy CRAZY come Sunday. I can’t wait for the chocolate waiting to be devoured in these pouches. I’m hoping for some cadbury creme eggs.
I did some serious bargain hunting the week Will was gone and I don’t regret it: these shoes are some of the most comfortable and complimented I have ever owned (I wore them to work 3 times this past week!) and these jeans are the perfect amount of stretchy legging goodness, plus they were on sale for under $30. Applause all around.
We had some friends in town from London this past week, and in a small world turn of events, they happened to be sitting only three rows ahead of Will on his direct flight back from Heathrow. Situations like this quite literally blow my mind, and I can’t stop telling people about it. I’ll be telling this story for years.
I went to high school with An, so it is always fun to get everyone together when she and her husband come into town. All 14 (!) of us went to Chuy’s, which, in my totally biased opinion, is some of the best Tex Mex you’ll find in Austin. I mean, they put chips and salsa in the trunk of a car. You can’t get that just anywhere.
I asked Alex, who grew up in England, what food he had to have when they visited Texas, and he replied “BBQ. And, Sonic shakes.” I’m sure any Austin foodie would flinch at this answer, but foodie I am not. Those shakes are legit.
Don’t mind the demon eyes.
Will and I saw Explosions in the Sky tonight with some good friends who were in town and they were AMAZING. This completed our two-part Friday Night Lights date, and now the series really is over for us. I’m not coping well.
I’ll never let go, Tim.
