Austin weather has been a bit of a drizzly mess recently, but that hasn’t stopped us from getting out and enjoying the last of the cooler temps before the 100 Degrees Monster unpacks his bags for the summer.
Earlier this week, I had a sweet time catching up with a friend while walking around Butler Park. I’m not sure that many people know this park exists because it’s never crowded (which is rare for Austin!) but it is smack dab in the middle of downtown, and so pretty. We snapped this photo of the Austin skyline after a walk around town lake.
Still listening to Hamilton like it’s my job.
… and really wishing I could play a Schuyler sister.
Will and I just took over leading our community group at church. Before we got married, I lead a group with another guy, and he lead a group with another girl. We took a break from leading when we got married, and Will joined my group. The guy I lead with previously just married my best friend, who is also in the group. So now they are taking a break and we are leading again. Confusing? Yeah, it kind of is. But we are so excited to get to get to lead together, and to get to keep these sweet friends in our group!
Friendship is: getting to hide in the bushes and take photos while your friends get engaged, then taking super excited selfies afterwards.
The best of the internet this week:
- An epic sibling prank.
I feel for the girl. When I got my wisdom teeth out, I insisted my mom bring me a whole bunch of toilet paper rolls so that I could build a fortress next to the couch where I was convalescing. A fortress to protect me from what, I’m not quite sure.
- One glass of red wine is the equivalent of one hour of exercise?
Please oh please oh please be true.
- Ways to dress like a french girl.
Because I don’t get most trends.
- A sample spring wardrobe from Putting Me Together
Because I just want to wear clothes and look cute and that is all the thought I want to put into getting dressed every day.
I’m headed to Boston in a few weeks for a long weekend! Will will be there for work, so I’m tagging along. I have actually been to Boston once before, with a bunch of my girlfriends my sophomore year of college. Sadly/surprisingly, we encountered a major snowstorm within hours of arriving on the china town bus from Philly, so most of what I saw in the city consisted of the inside of dorms rooms at Harvard and MIT (which was cool!), the aquarium, and a whole lot of snow.
We had a snowball fight in some probably very significant park:
Engaged in some questionable dance partying at Harvard.
And spent some time hanging out on the T…. Forgive us, we were 19.
So far, we have tickets to a Red Sox game, and we know we want to see the Freedom Trail. If anyone has suggestions for must do’s in Boston, let me know!
