I love confessions. In fact, I have a game with one of my best friends over g-chat aptly named,’Confessions’ where we confess things like “It’s 10 am, and I’ve already eaten the lunch I packed for today” or “I’ve been researching serial killers all morning.” I’m not saying these are good things to do, I’m just saying it’s good to confess them to a friend.
My favorite confession time ever was during a trip to Paris with a few of my friends (we are not that fancy, we just know Parisians). It was nearing midnight at some cafe somewhere and we were sipping wine and sharing our worst confessions. One of my friends confessed that when she worked at a bookstore, she and a coworker found a bag with two pills and agreed to each take one. Nothing happened, but I thought was the best/weirdest thing I had ever heard.
*When I drop food on the floor, my first instinct is to pick it up and eat. Like a toddler.
*I have been watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette since 2007, when Deanna Pappas stole my heart by grumpily shutting down a perfectly good pool party by proclaiming that no one was paying attention to her and isn’t that why they were all there!?? I loved her so much in that moment. That’s not the confession. I also think the Bachelor/Bachelorette is my favorite TV watching experience and I look forward to it for months. That’s also not the confession. I think if I were on the Bachelor, I would be the craziest of them all- I could NOT handle dating a guy along with 24, 14, 10 or even 1 other woman. I would be a mess of tears, all the time. I would probably go home, of my own accord, and then come back and beg for him to take me back. And then probably leave again, and repeat the process. That’s the confession. I don’t know how this show doesn’t have MORE drama.
Me. This would be me.
*I quit drinking coffee four months ago and I still crave it daily.
*Growing up, my mom never left the house without bright pink lipstick on. When asked why, she always said ‘your Dad likes it.’ I now never leave the house without pink lipstick on. My husband has no thoughts on the subject. My go-to pink lipstick is this weird green ‘mood magic’ lipstick I buy off Amazon like a middle schooler, because it is the only one that gives me the perfect pink pigment and lasts longer than 10 minutes.
*I haven’t vacuumed our carpets since we moved in on December 5.
*I am a total grammar/pronunciation snob and am always correcting how people pronounce things (in my head). I used to do it out loud and quickly realized that people do not respond well to that. I am now working on not doing it in my head either. Who cares how people pronounce things? Who cares if their grammar is bad? Well, me. But I’m working on it.
*I know overalls come back into style every few years, but I think that is mostly because someone in the fashion world is messing with us. It’s not that I don’t think women look weirdly cute in overalls… it’s just like, really? Fashion that traverses both farm wear and office wear AND the 1-35 year old woman age barrier? I just don’t know.
