Let’s get down to business.
*I stayed up really late on Saturday evening watching videos of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio’s gush about how much they love each other and what great friends they are. It was beautiful and time well spent.
*I’m obsessed with the song ‘No’ by Megan Trainor, and apparently so is Grumpy Cat:
BUT, I find the music video kind of sad. It’s just a missed opportunity. Megan Trainor is this beautiful, talented, funny woman, and this song should be a fun female empowerment anthem… but she spends about half the video in a girl orgy touching herself while wearing a dominatrix costume, making the whole thing a lot more ‘want me’ than ‘respect me.’
It reminds me of the Bruno Mars ‘Just the Way You Are’ music video… like great, glad you like her just the way she is, she’s a MODEL you fool. You haven’t proved ANYTHING.
Maybe my confession should have been that I still watch music videos?
*Although I do not say curse words, in the event that I do say a curse word (ie, I’ve spilled or broken something), my mouth always adds “and a half” on to the end. Always.
I drop a full cup of water: “$#%&and-a-half!”
A helmet-less bicyclist comes out of nowhere and almost slams into my car because they are texting/singing/talking to themselves (#austintrafficproblems):
Where did this delightful and ladylike turn of phrase come from? No idea. I’ve been trying to break the habit (both the cursing and the ‘and a half’) to no avail for years.
*I have a hard time when kids have lingering food on their hands/faces. A Luke Danes kind of hard time.
I share these feelings with Luke, except instead of jam, it’s ketchup: There was a little boy I used to babysit for who always had ketchup on his ELBOWS because he would stick them in his plate while he ate and try as I might, I could never get them fully clean. Coaxing the ketchup stains out of my clothes after a Friday evening of babysitting characterized much of my high school money making career.
*I want to see this movie. The backstreet boys and O Town in a western zombie movie?? I repeat, O TOWN. WESTERN. ZOMBIE. MOVIE. It’s all the things.
